I have noticed that the scheme that I chose for the main board keeps changing to the default one. My laptop make me re log in every time I open my browser for some strange reason which in turn changes the scheme to the default. And then every once in awhile i'll click into a ooc subforum and my scheme will change to Wonder Woman. Maybe it is just cause I need to delete cookies?

And it not only changes the scheme look, it changes the scheme option to the scheme currently showing. If that makes sense.

EDIT: as I was typing this, the scheme was the default. as soon as I posted, it changed to wonder woman.

This came up for someone else, and I'm not sure why. Try clearing your cookies, and we're going to take another look.

Just wanted to say, It's happened for me as well just now. I'm using the La La Land scheme and maybe because I've been in the introduction forum for a little while, when I clicked back onto the main board, like with Heidi it changed back to the default scheme. (and now it's just randomly changed to Wonder Woman).

Just wanted to add myself to the group who seem to be getting the scheme changing on them glitch. I was using the Wonder Woman one for a little bit (couple hours maybe) but I've tried changing it and every time I go a new page it reverts back to WW. I've tried changing it from CP, the bottom of the homepage, and random pages as well but it never sticks.

I was on Riverdale and then it went to Star Wars: Co Pilots. It seems to gradually be going up the list of schemes but every once in awhile just completely resetting to default. This is honestly very strange lol

EDIT: it went back to Moana from Riverdale.

I've been using the CP as well, and selected my scheme from the options page. But it's still been swapping schemes. So far though in the last few minutes it hasn't done it, 'fingers crossed'.

I cleared my cookies and refreshed, which cause me to log out and my scheme to revert to the default. I'll change to the Guardians scheme and report back if I get more weird things happening!

It just happened to me... Using Stranger Things (set in UserCP) and clicked a link and it changed to Star Wars: The Dark Side.

It's happening to me again as well. I was using the Daredevil scheme and tried switching to Moana but every time I go to a new page it reverts back to Daredevil.

I've just changed my scheme to the Charlie Hunnam one, and I don't know why but my postbit (name, post count, online/offline) looks different then everyone else. It's all horizontal instead of vertical....Is it because I don't have a location set.

Is there a way to change the way the date is displayed? For example, June 8th, 2017 currently displays as 08/06/17 which is normal for most people here, but it boggled my mind for about half a second because in the US it'd be 06/08/17. I looked in my CP to see if there was a place to change it to the US format but didn't see any. My time zone is set correctly if that matters? I apologize if I missed something.

I suspect it's set that way because our High Ladies are British. I've always been on boards where it's set the American way and I've never thought to question whether or not it can be changed. I suspect it's going to be one size fits all, but we'll check it out.

What Lindsey said happens to me. To clear my cookies, it clears site data so I always have to relog in when I open the browser back up. And it goes to the default scheme. I put it on the one I wanted and am gonna see if it changes anytime soon.

EDIT (approx. 9 minutes later): It was fine, then I went into a game and edited my postbit. When I returned to the main site, it was the default scheme and once I clicked new posts, Baywatch popped up.

I don't know if anyone else has this issue or if I just have an issue with my eyes, but I'm using The Flash as a scheme and the blue (and the red to a lesser degree) text when you Edit RP Profile is extremely hard for me to read. Could you possibly change the color to a lighter one?

Probably a silly question but when the new RPG user guide says "You are allowed to upload ONE GIF per character and the other FOUR images must be stills." it just means one gif at a time? Like we can change our give images at any point as long as only one is a gif?

Yes exactly Heidi. You can change your images as many times as you wish, but only one gif and four stills. This is simply because we are now hosting the images so it takes up more room if we use all gifs :)

I'm sure I can get used to most of the changes, but I still really don't like when the board stretches across the entire page. I have to lean back to even be able to read what's on the screen, despite having zoomed out. Is there any way to change that?

Sandra currently the schemes will be staying as they are. I know it's a big change and that no one likes change but honestly once you get used to it I think this scheme is much easier to read from. I'm not sure why you have to lean back to read everything, the point of the scheme is that it should fit perfectly now so you don't need to struggle with reading. It's much easier to look at the board on your phone as well. Maybe you could send us a screencap, maybe how you see the board is different to how we do?

eta: I don't know if it's useful to you Sandra but contributors also have an option to get a custom scheme made for them as well. Would certain colours and the such make it easier for you to see the schemes?

^ That's the beauty of these new schemes, they're all 100% adaptable to what size resolution/device you're using. We're not using fixed widths anymore and Chrissie has done a lot of work to make them user friendly for everyone.

How about you dont make browser full screen width? You can actually, by reducing its width, trigger the mobile layout on the laptop... I keep doing "full size > small size > full size" on the laptop when I look at the layout and do work with it :-p (certainly much simpler than always looking at the phone, then comp, then phone :-p)

Actually not at this point, no. The post layout is purely divs now and making anything properly stick to the bottom with how it's currently done is hard. It's on my list for some time in the future just cuz I'm a friggin perfectionist. But nothing that has priority. I'd prefer having it stick to the bottom as well, but there's some tricky arrangements in the coding of the current postbit to make it look like it does and work on the phone as well as on the bigger screens. Since it works (and didn't actually stick to the bottom on MS either) it's just not something I find really needs to be done right now.

If you go into the RPG tab, and manage characters you can click on your notes on the right hand side.

Notes is basically a native messaging system built for the RPG Bios. YOu could basically take over a char from another player and get their complete bunch of notes with it. Also, all RPG Managers can see the notes for their rpgs / characters, so this is to ensure someone getting to your concerns fast / faster than when sending it to a single person through PMs.

Head over to Your Biography Page (http://www.winterinbohemia.com/forum/biography.php) and you should find the "View Notes" links there.

Is it possible to change the alias for the character? I would prefer to have them displayed with first and last name in the posts, not just the first name.

Sandra the alias is the way we can identify the character in the hack. If you wish for first and last names to display for your characters you may edit your character alias to have the first and last name and we will then approve the edits :D

Actually players need to request that to be edited. There's a dropdown in your bio to do this when you click on "Details" through your biography page. Give it a shot.

If you go to the bio page of your character, scroll to the bottom where it says edit. Then on the right hand side there should be a little click box that looks like

With the new RPG hack/character system thing, I'm used to the multiple accounts so it's going to take me a little while to get used to this new system. But do we need to re-submit bios or anything like that. Also, how do we add an image to the character profile/bio bit.

We've attached all the bios to your accounts already, so there's no need for submissions. Just check over the info and apply any edits that you need.

I was just in the options page looking at the sceheme's and when I clicked on the Wonder Woman scheme and went back into the options page, I noticed in the drop down boxes the writing colour is quite light. I was wondering if that could be changed to a slightly darker shade. I don't know if this is the right place to post this.

Not sure if this goes here, but I'm trying to make a character journal, and I was wondering if it's possible to put two boxes side by side (using [choicebox2]) and if so, what's the code for that? :chin: Or do I need to use different boxes? Hey Bonnie, I was struggling with that too for a while. But if you look at how Vicki has set it up here (http://www.winterinbohemia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2698), you should be able to do it. There is a little bit more coding adding to it in terms of the [td] tags.

The only way to view “todays posts” is to hit the “mark all read” and then go back in to new posts and hit the link at the end in “You may search for theads updated in the past 24 hours, here”. Due to the uniqueness of the hand coding we have less junk filler and we don’t want to overload the board with a thousand superfluous links. For this reason we aren’t currently planning to add a seperate link on the mobile page

Just off the back of something I'm finding, could any plots that have been filled and no longer required, please be retired somewhere out of The Fireplace? As a newer board member, I'm trying to find interesting plots to join, and because I obviously don't know all the games and characters, it makes trying to fit into a plot more difficult because there are plots already taken amidst those that need filling.

Obviously I don't mean any that require discussion in the thread to clarify things or part-filled requests, but those that are completed - could they be moved elsewhere to clear it up a little?

Premature question which understandably I understand may not be answered (lol). I'm excited about this potential Caribbean game so I'm clouded in excitement. Is it possible to mark a thread as mature after you've already posted the thing that makes it mature, or can you only do that before you post? From what I can tell, you can only mark it as mature in the quick reply box, and not in the advanced screen, or in editing it after it's been posted. Which is super inconvenient, because that means I'd have to delete and repost to properly mark it.

There is in fact no specific rule about how many lines of text though, only that it should be 250px high including text. Amy's flashing around four lines these days, and you could probably get away with a couple more, depending on your font size.

I posted a thread for residence for a group of us in the Prague game and it auto-merges posts after that because I am the thread creator. Is there a way to turn that off? I know it's meant to detract from double posts but I wanted to start a scene in the thread.

ETA: Sandra aka Wild Love told me I need to wait 30 min before I can post. I understand that rule. I wish there was a way to turn it off for thread creators though!

You can just ask an admin or mod who’s online to change the time. I’ll do that now for you.

The hack doesn’t read it as a thread starter and subsequent post but as spam which is why we have the hack. We can always reduce the time if it’s a common issue for everyone. The other way around it is to get someone else to post the thread so that you can reply. Post owners can always be changed.

1. How detailed do the game ideas have to be when we send it in, and can it be based off of a book/film.
2. If we decide to do one of the other prizes/options instead, if we don't more then once, we only get one prize right.

1) As detailed as you want, because we can certainly help flesh out ideas if needed. And it can be based on a book or film, though ideally, it would be something that people who haven't seen or read it can jump into if they want.

2) Every £2 donation you give to the board gives you 1 entry. So, if you donate £10, you'll get 5 entries.
