In the lead up to our six month anniversary we want to have a little fun! So we've set up a little scavenger hunt. Every day - at a staggered time - we will be releasing clues to lead you to the the "x". Then on Sunday when the seventh clue has been released the first person who PM's Marlowe with links to all the correct image will win a copy of our Book Club Book of the month!

Hi everyone. Just a heads up as we sink further into the month that bios, username changes, requests, et al. may take longer as all staff are taking a little break for holiday time with family. That being said if it’s been more than a week please feel free to PM Vicky or myself and we’ll see to it ASAP.

It has come to our attention that we needed an archive for the storyline request threads in By The Fireplace. As new members arrive, it would help them especially to be able to see which requests are still outstanding. We'd like to introduce you to The Paper Shredder. All filled and irrelevant threads will be moved into this forum for easy referral.

If you have plot requests that you no longer need, please use this thread to list the requests that you need moved.

All AI lists have had their monthly update. Please re-request AI's that have lapsed but please remember AI's can only be rereserved once. You can put in a bio without a character reserve.

This is to let you all know about a new rule in place for RPG characters.

After one year of a character not being in active play they will automatically be retired and their AI will be freed up. You will be PM'd and a note will be left on the character to indicate this. After retirement this character can be resubmitted once but if after an additional 3 months unplayed they will be retired once more this time permanently. Characters retired by the members own wish are not subject to this ruling.

Please note this will be the only rule added in regards to characters being forcibly retired. At no time do we plan on introducing a checks period. This rule will come into effect from June '18.

Just a heads up! For the next two weeks, and in particular the week beginning March 5th, staff activity will be reduced as three fifths of our team head off on holiday! Please be patient with all requests and bio submissions, they will be seen to just not at our usual speed!

Just to let you know we know the board is very slow at the moment. Our server host Godaddy is experiencing some issues at the moment so it's affecting how we are running. Sorry!

It’s finally here! The Infinity War has begun and thanks to Amy we now have a scheme to enjoy it with!

Hey guys, as our one year anniversary is coming upon us the staff have just started to do some general housekeeping throughout the board to make sure everything is ship shape. A few things we've found we just want to bring up with you our members as a friendly reminder of our rules.

Game Avatars: Please remember that while you may have five avatars per character that only one of these currently may be a gif, the rest must be static. This is due to us hosting the pictures rather than you guys linking them. The only characters that may have two gifs are characters that are also playing in Fairy Lights.

Wish Lists: The wish lists are currently for just that, wish lists. They aren't for storing various character information. As a staff we are currently discussing alternatives to the wish lists that may best suit our members needs and we will get back to you on this.

Inactive Characters: This is just a reminder that as we are coming up to our one year any characters that you haven't used in a year, or posted at all within that year, will be up for retirement.

As always we thank you our members for actually getting us to our one year! Just remember to follow the rules, as you know we do review things and take your suggestions on board so just keep checking in here for any updates.

Hi all! Once again it seems all our staff will be away for the same period of time. As such we are making a temporary ruling that will end on October 10th

If you submit a bio you may play that character prior to bio approval. This is ONLY if you have submitted a bio for approval though. Come October 10th you will have to wait for bio approval again before you may play your characters.

Only one more week until the new Doctor Who. Which means it's time to use the Tardis and revive an old scheme and give it a huge refresh! Enjoy!

Today we've updated our security certificates and everything. You may notice that the fonts are displaying differently as well. Without blocking all external images and google fonts we're not able to get the shiny padlock, but we are nice and secure. If your browser says otherwise please try putting https:// at the beginning of the url.

We've also been doing some general housekeeping today in line with our security update. The board will automatically redirect everyone now to https://www.winterinbohemia.com/forum/index.php. We have also updated our mobile/cell phone schemes so as well as New Posts you will now be able to access Today's Posts. It's something we knew you all wanted and we finally got around to adding it!

Following on from our work last weekend all of our schemes have now been completely updated. Hi all! So we had a discussion amongst the staff and we’ve decided to update the rule on RPG images. Currently you are allowed to have one gif and four still images per bio. As this hasn’t been too much of a drain on our database so far we are going to change this. From now on you can have up to two gifs per bio and the rest should be still images. We know it’s something people wanted and we’ve listened!

As you know the rule for Fairy Lights is that you can use any character you already own in any fairy lights game or you can create one original character. However we’ve reviewed this and have made an alternation to the rules. You are now able to create up to FIVE original characters for any fairy lights games! So we hope to see more of you enjoy our member led games!
