Oh my Gaudi!
Siempre Vida Barcelona will be going through a revamp this weekend and in preparation for that, we're closing the game tomorrow (Friday, 12th April). We will be back on Sunday, April 14th. We look forward to seeing you then! |
GAME UPDATES As promised, there's a lot of new stuff going on in Barcelona. We thought after more than a year of being open, the game deserved a proper revamp and we've got a lot to share with you. - We have a brand spanking new theme. The colours are lighter and the header tells you exactly what you need to know - monsters are tearing up the city constantly. Which brings us to the next thing. - Barcelona is under attack again, but this time, it's between the humans and the vampires. And it's ugly. And it's going to get uglier. Protect your own and make sure nobody takes you down. You can find all the details in this post. - And where humans are involved, we need a group that doesn't care for the supernatural species of the world. Here's a little information about the Human Defense Legion and if you're on the wrong side of the tracks and want to join a gang, we've got you covered. - If you take a proper look, you'll see that there's a whole lot more going on in Barcelona. We've revamped the game layout, splitting it up better and adding new sections to the game. Visit Barceloneta, Plaça de Catalunya, Sarrià, Parc de Collserola and even join the ASRW. - And finally, we got your requests and messages and we're now open to accepting all kinds of supernatural species in the game. All you have to do is check the list and if the species you want to play is not on the list, send in a message with the species you wanted (BEFORE you submit your character) and we'll add it to the list. Simple. We really hope to see you all back in the game, we're looking forward to all the fun we're about to have and can't wait to see what you've got in store for us! WELCOME BACK TO BARCELONA |
General Game Announcement
Its come to our attention that in some of the games the same character alias is getting through to submission. The way the hack is set up it should mean that all characters within one game should have a unique alias: Will, William, Billy etc. It should alert you if you’re making a duplicate alias but we’re noticing a few have gotten through. Please check your own characters on the RPG character list and if they’re missing please either let us know or edit your alias accordingly. Something as simple as adding a . will make it unique or evening having your alias as a full name. Sorry for the inconvenience! |
Courts of Cornesse Updates
The Fae are wild, magical creatures, tied to the lands around them. They are not human, yet also not beast, and long lives remember many things. This wildness is expressed through the new look schemes that have been released throughout the game. Each court has a fresh look, as does the main forum. This time, the Nauryx Forest also has a scheme of its own, honouring the Murcielagos that live, train and defend the neutral territory and the mountains. Explore, enjoy, but watch your back as you enter Cornesse and become enveloped by the magic. |
ZM Hiatus
Hello everyone! For the interim Zaubereiministerium is going on hiatus from September 1st. Over the next few weeks staff will be discussing the future of the game, which is why we’re giving all members a heads up so that they can save anything pertaining to their characters from the game. When a definitive decision has been reached we will let you know.. If there are characters that you want to transfer to another game please let us know and we can help you make that happen. Just ensure that the AI is free in that game or request an AI change. |
Staff Downtime
You may have all noticed that staff activity is low at the moment. We can only apologise for this but August - September is often the busiest time of year for most of us in our day jobs and because of sickness. If we can ask for you to bear with us that will be great. This does mean that requests and the such will take longer, you do not need to send us reminders as we are aware of the list of things that need to be done. That being said there will be a rule amendment between September 20th - October 8th in which characters can be played once submitted. The admin team are on holiday during this period. For this reason as well we are going to extend the secret santa submission date to October 1st as we also know that our members are having a busy period as well. Very sorry for any inconvenience caused by our staff down time but things will be back to normal in October. |

Scavenger Hunt 2019 We wanted to do something different this year. We love you guys and we hope that you feel like we have a little community that support your wins and who you can turn to when it's tough. Life can be hard. We all know that. This time of year can be harder for some. Below you will find five tasks, two of which will benefit your local community, all which we hope will benefit you. The Scavenger Hunt 2019 will take place over December, 02-12-2019/01-01-2020. You can submit photos, videos or a few words per task via instagram DM, tagging us in a story or post or by PMing the Lady Penelope account. - Donate canned goods from the back of your cupboard/an old coat/blankets to pet shelter/time to charity. - Your mission: write a letter to someone special to you telling them how they have changed your life for the better. Send it/give it to them. - What does it look like in your mind? Write, take a photo or make a video of what best represents your mind. - Share with us a song or book that changed you. Tell us why, if you feel like it. - Pay it forward! Or, a random act of kindness. You choose. All entrants will be added to an online generator and announced on 03/01/20 here and on our instagram. The prize: a hand-curated box of goodies. |

Bohemian Book Club
When we opened WiB, running a book club sounded like a really cool idea. In reality, we found it a challenge to pull off and maintain. While we love the concept, we've made the decision to retire it. All our past discussions and threads can now be found in the archives for your reference. Instead, we've added a 'Currently Reading' thread into the Throne Room of the Winter Court! Book discussion threads can also be added into the Court Theatre for more specific discussions and potential spoilers you wish to cover. Additionally, we've also released the special Book Club scheme for general use around the board! So go, read, explore and throw your recommendations around! This book club is going underground. |

So, we all know what's been going on in the world at the moment. Added to that we all have a lot of real-life stressors that are already a struggle. Anxiety and stress are things we often mention in the OOC threads. One of the apps I use daily (Balance) is currently offering a FREE one-year subscription to ANYONE who wants it. If you feel like you could use a little guided meditation to distract you for a few minutes, some help with nodding off at night, a little afternoon boost, email access@balanceapp.com they'll send you an email with instructions. Almost a Happy New Year
Hi all! As you can imagine 2020 has been a difficult year for us all and although there are some positive things happening that should make the future brighter, we're not all there yet. As such we've decided that for 2021 we will be pausing any forced character retirements. We want to ensure that you can all still enjoy this place and post when and where you need to without worry while the world tries to get back to some kind of normality, whenever that will be.
