Writing Connections [Post #1]
Writing Connections

For our amazing characters to become whole it's not just ourselves that write them that contribute. For most of us we have a few people that we love to write and plot with and every few months we here at WiB want to show our enjoyment of some of those special connections

One of the things that we as staff love to see on the board is everyone connecting with each other either through simply having a chat or the way that plotting happens. Characters that we fall in love with happen so often because the people writing them have such a wonderful emotional connection to the point of often having Character feels. This January's pair have been chosen for this reason, they are so excited and invested in the characters that they write together.

S!Sandra and Matt don't have the most pairings on the boards but honestly the way they love to talk about them and get very excited about them makes us feel like they have a hundred more. It's incredibly adorable and we all enjoy following it all in the OOC area as well as following their pairings IC. In American Dreams we have Jamie Woods who currently is completely crushing on Miguel Herrera, terribly adorable and I feel will be a cute pairing. Miles Eira, a Prince of Summer is the love interest to Cerelia Vesna a Princess of Spring. That as we all know won't end well as Cerelia is in love with her cousin. Over in A Bohemian Winter Vadim Doroshenko is a Principal Ballerino currently giving private lessons to Roman Veselý but will there be something else between them? These are only three of their connections but they are all so amazing and we can't help but read!

Matt and Sandra please keep up with your amazing pairings! Everyone enjoys them so much and honestly feel free to plot some more together so we can keep up with them

Yes yes it has been a while since we have done a writing pair, this is entirely my own fault. So now that we are back on it lets talk about why we have chosen this months pair. These two haven't been writing together for a particularly long time, I believe they first came together with their first pairing in January but ever since there has been something very special that has come out of the creative process with some wonderful characters that have made a lot of us want to read! So while they have not had as long writing together as many others on the board you truly would not be able to tell.

Nadya and Becky don't have a huge amount of characters but what they do have is a lot of quality. One of the sweetest pairings together is that of Dekhlan and Laurel, little winter babies in Courts of Cornesse. They are a little shaky on their feet but the future possibilities for these two seem endless if they can make their bond work. Matilda and Teddy are in the middle of a somewhat awkward date in Zaubereiministerium that seems to be getting better as it goes along. In the Fairy Lights game Jazz Age Jeopardy there has already been a bit of friction between Felix and Edith, something that as our murder mystery continues will no doubt become far more frictional!

Becky and Nadya have more connections than just these, but it is a little snap shot into what they are all about. You do some amazing work girls so please keep it up, we all enjoy reading along!

This seems to have settled into a routine of this being a six monthly event. If that's the case, so be it! I'm going to give this thing a crack and give you some clues into why this couple are our writing pair this month. Let's be real, as far as plot partners go on this board, they're pretty iconic. You can't log onto the board for the day without seeing new stages in the lives of many different characters and plots. They've crossed boards and borders in the years they've been writing together, and that synchronicity shows! There are some exciting and devastating plots in development that we're all very excited to follow.

Sandra and Vicki have an extensive amount of pairings and plots together, so it's very difficult to go through and pick out one or two favourites. American Dreams is one of their biggest playgrounds, where the wild triangle of Ben, Maddy and Nathan unfolds. It's a relationship between friends, brothers and lovers that is equally sexy, messy and fantastic - and can we talk about Ronnie? I mean, come on! Ow! This one spreads over into Fairylights and The Big Smoke as well, so it's a journey across time to explore and learn about the little niches in these characters' lives. In A Bohemian Winter, Noah and Serena are a glimpse into the power of toxic relationships and budding love that hopes for a happy ending. Dacre and Emily are exploring passionate young love in the City of Blinding Lights as they bond over the world of YouTube and video work. There's a lot of passion all across these plots, so tread lightly and carefully!

Sandra and Vicki have done amazing work in really building their own world within a world with their plots, but there are plenty more where that came from! They've fallen in love over and through their writing, and we're loving celebrating that with them as they do some truly stellar work!

June 2019

It's June, you say? If you thought it must be time for the next writing connections spotlight, you'd be right! We're pointing out a writing pair that, honestly, seem to be as consistent in their writing and posting together as they are at breathing - they're just always there. Don't ask me how long they've been together as partners now, but their character lists are long, their posts fast, and it's a little bit awe inspiring now they manage to keep it up.

That's right, you heard me. Anna and Amy, George and Brooke, honestly, I can't do one without the other. George Ross and Brooke Parker-Ross are Hollywood sweethearts. Acting royalty and head of their own dynasty. You can see the Ross influence filtering down across the board, particularly in New York, where Keaton Laurie is sweet talking and loving their eldest, Josie. Sage rules the Autumn Court in Cornesse with an iron fist, but warrior Zephyr stole her heart and would protect it with his life. Back out in London, let's be real, Jemma and Stanton are just hot. Nothing like a good wedding to get the blood pumping of everyone in attendance. Vampire Nicholas is feeling stressed in Barcelona, what with the vampire hunts on the rise, and what's that going to do for his lady love, Lillian? Her own powers are already causing them enough problems!

Amy and Anna are prolific and extraordinary in their efforts and make the board lively with their wide collection of plots, faces and stories. Ladies, we love seeing your work. You're both so inspiring in how much writing you can do, so please! Keep on going!

January 2020

We're almost through January which definitely means it's time we crowned our new writing connections pair. This time around, we're celebrating the queens who invented the 'Every version of you loves every version of me' concept, and as you explore around the board, you get a sneak peak into an alternative universe as the same characters fall in love over and over again.

Look, sometimes your writing starts one day with a relative stranger until years pass and suddenly you're married with a cat, a horde of characters and your own board for them to come to life on. Our High Ladies, Vicky and Mel, are a pair that we couldn't do without. The Marlowe/Murdoch/Glenmire-Flynn/Rhys/Emerson etc. dynasty (with variations I've undoubtedly missed) can be found in every setting across the board, from supernatural to real life to Fairylights. In New York City, we find Calandra and Bastian, head of the Murdoch family, managing to find each other again after losing each other for such a long time. They're also living their best circus life over in Fairylights. Kit Marlowe and Viola Beckwith are doing the same, creating a family and a circle of friendship that spreads through their descendants. The Marlowe/Murdoch children in another life are ruling the Winter and Summer Courts in Cornesse, and we're all wondering what will happen with the two courts now that the High Lord of Summer and the High Lady of Winter are determined to be together. At the same time, Henry Glenmire-Flynn and Viola's twin, James, are doctor extraordinaires in the city, while their offspring are fighting in Dublin and we really question if Harlow and Parker will ever reconcile their differences. Meanwhile, Parker and Daisy Rhys' children are off winning ballet dancer hearts in Prague, ensuring the dynasty still lives on!

It's only a taste of what Vicky and Mel have created. Perhaps it is inevitable that every version of you does love every version of me, no matter what universe you're in. We love our High Ladies for the worlds they are building and the example they set for us. We're watching your universes expand, ladies, and we're excited to see what else you have in store!

July 2020

We are half way through what has been such a strange year but honestly that hasn't stopped some of the wonderful creativity on this board. So for the second half of the year let us introduce you to our writing pair: Todd and Sarah. These two are a quiet pairing that you may not notice obviously but when you see what they write together it is always so interesting and different.

Not only do Todd and Sarah write together but they also enjoy other hobbies such as D&D together which I actually think fuels their ideas and brings new things to the board. We have Camden and Marty in The Reckoning, two people whom it seems are trying to work out what they mean together in this crazy magical mixed up world. I mean Marty seems to be getting flustered just from a brief hand holding. Can't imagine what might happen if there is a kiss! Come on boys, get it together! We have Shane and Rory, two witches that sit on completely opposite sides of the coin. Shane was about as good as you could be and Rory has chosen a coven of evil yet the two of them seem to make it work. If anything they seem kind of adorable. Then there is Asher and Hank in Fish Creek. Those two boys are clearly playing a dangerous game, Hank after all was still married! Eventually it is going to get out, what a fall that that will be.

There are other characters we could talk about too, but I'd be waffling on forever about Sarah and Todd have made together. I certainly think they are worth keeping a close eye on just to see what amazing pairings they might just come up with next!
